Jimmy Logue has agreed to take over the events job. He is very
enthusiastic and has some super events in the pipeline for swimmers and parents alike such as discos, family fun days, BBQ
etc. Please give as much support as possible. One new event will
be an awards night on September 22nd. Jimmy has some great ideas for this and promises to be a fun inspirational
night for all our swimmers. Put it in your diaries now!
In order for this to run successfully Jimmy will be a regular visitor at squad swimming sessions where he hopes to
speak to coaches swimmers and parents. This will give the club the opportunity to award one swimmer from throughout the club
the Susan Rolph Trophy. All swimmers have an equal chance of being awarded this special trophy, named after a Newcastle City
Olympian.
It is an award that will be awarded to a swimmer who demonstrates
special qualities that sets them apart from others.
To help us all with this difficult task here are the criteria we
are looking at:
. Good attitude in and out of the pool
. Commitment
. Improvement throughout the year
.
Competitiveness
. Determination
. Respect
. Helpfulness towards others
In addition during his visits Jimmy would like to take photos (nothing serious please) to be displayed on
awards night. If you have an objection to your child being photographed please see him at any time.
If you have any suggestions or ideas for forthcoming events such as Valentine's Day, Mother's Day, Easter
etc you like to share, please do not hestitate to email Jimmy.
